In the modern digital era, scams are pretty common. One expeirence I’ve had with a scammer was on Instagram. Someone made a account similar to mine, using a similar profile picture and username. This fake user went through my social media following and follwed everybody that follwed my real account. They then messaged all my follwers pretending to be me, asking for a favor, which was to send the scammer money. Eventually enough people realized that I don’t speak like how the scammer did and checked the scammers fake account, seeing that the account doesn’t have any of the posts my real account had. Multiple people contacted me to let me know someone was impersonating me, so I was quickly able to let everyone know that the account was not me and report it. The account got banned soon after, but they almost scammed some of my older family members who where less skeptical of the fake account. (Comments are on the blog link featured on the “home” page).
